Sarnia, ON - The Sarnia-Lambton Local Immigration Partnership (SL-LIP) is hosting their 2nd annual Welcoming Week from September 9 to 18, 2022. Welcoming Week aims to demonstrate the benefits of immigration at the local level and promote positive engagement between newcomers and Canadians.
Recognized by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), Welcoming Week is a yearly occasion where Canadian communities host events and raise awareness on the importance of promoting an inclusive and welcoming space for newcomers.
2022 marks the 10th anniversary of what is now a global event, and Canada’s third year participating nationally. To learn more and participate in local activities, events, and learning opportunities, join our Welcoming Week Facebook event page.
We encourage current residents and new residents alike to save the date and participate in Welcoming Week to celebrate diversity, inclusion and belonging in Lambton County. This week provides newcomers with the opportunity to connect with community services and participate in fun and informative activities to get to know their new home. Welcoming Week also provides opportunities for quality interactions between old and new residents.
