Sarnia, ON - The Sarnia-Lambton Anti-Racism, Discrimination and Inclusion Committee (SLARDIC), together with the Sarnia-Lambton Local Immigration Partnership (SL-LIP), is re-launching the #AllAreWelcomeHere campaign, aimed at promoting diversity and addressing issues of racial, religious and ethnic prejudice and discrimination in our community.
The #AllAreWelcomeHere campaign was first created in 2017 by the London & Middlesex Local Immigration Partnership. Beginning in May 2021, Lambton County residents began seeing #AllAreWelcomeHere lawn signs and window stickers across Lambton.
The #AllAreWelcomeHere campaign, supported by over 30 community partner organizations, promotes respectful co‐existence and inclusion, and changes the conversation around racial, religious, and ethnic prejudice and discrimination in the community.
To increase community access, Lambton County Library will be offering free signage and stickers to those interested. All residents and local business owners are encouraged to participate in the campaign. Call your local library for more information on how to pick up your sign and stickers. Locations and hours can be found at lclibrary.ca.
You can also visit SLARDIC committee members at Lambton Mall on Sunday September 18, 2022 from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. to pick up free signage and stickers. SLARDIC committee members will be at the mall promoting the #AllAreWelcomeHere campaign and recognizing local acts of welcome in recognition of Lambton’s 2nd annual Newcomer Welcome Week, which takes place from September 9 to 18.
