Sarnia, ON - The County of Lambton has been approved to provide $1.49 million in provincial funding to support the addition of 49 new child care spaces at London Bridge Child Care Service's Oak Ave Early Childhood Learning Centre in Sarnia.
The funding has been announced through the Ministry of Education's Community-Based Early Years and Child Care Capital Program. The new child care spaces are expected to open in late 2020.
"The County of Lambton is pleased to work with the Ministry of Education and London Bridge Child Care to invest in the addition and operation of these new child care spaces, which will help meet a well-established need in our community," said Lambton County Warden Bill Weber.
“London Bridge Child Care Services welcomes this opportunity to continue our partnership with the County of Lambton and the Ministry of Education. The addition of spaces will increase access to early care and education that is committed to nurturing the curious minds and kind hearts of those in our community," said Angela Woodburn and Charlene Grainger, Co-Executive Directors, London Bridge Child Care Services Inc.
The County of Lambton acts as the Consolidated Municipal Service Manager for the provincially licensed Child Care system in Lambton County.
