Wyoming, ON - Interactive touchscreen kiosks promoting programs, exhibitions, events, and tourism offerings in the region have arrived at Lambton County Library locations, and other cultural sites across Lambton County.
The kiosks and an accompanying brochure rack and poster holder are a result of a partnership with Tourism Sarnia-Lambton and funded by the Tourism Relief Fund grant program. The Tourism Relief Fund is delivered by the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario, and the funding was allotted to Lambton’s Cultural Services Division by the Ontario Southwest Regional Tourism Organization.
“This partnership with Tourism Sarnia-Lambton will benefit both residents’ and tourists visiting Lambton’s cultural facilities,” said Andrew Meyer, General Manager, Cultural Services. “As local residents, we can sometimes overlook the great experiences available in our own backyards, and visitors to one cultural site can be encouraged to visit other sites throughout the County.”
The kiosks are preloaded with Tourism Sarnia-Lambton’s “Tour Ontario’s Blue Coast” app. Using the kiosk, patrons will be able to find information about events, beaches, dining, arts, outdoor adventures, safe travels or gain some trip inspiration.
The poster rack and brochure holder will feature information about the following:
- Lambton County Library
- Judith & Norman Alix Art Gallery
- Oil Museum of Canada
- Lambton Heritage Museum
- Lambton County Archives
- Tourism Sarnia-Lambton
Visitors can scan the QR (quick response) code featured on the poster rack to download the “Tour Ontario’s Blue Coast” app to their own smartphone.
