Wyoming, ON - The County of Lambton Cultural Services Division has cancelled all public programs scheduled at its cultural services facilities, effective March 14 through to Sunday, April 5 as a preventative action in response to the emerging COVID-19 situation.
The Bridgen and Grand Bend library locations will also be closed during this same period, as these branches are located within elementary school facilities that have been closed by the Lambton Kent District School Board. At this time, all other libraries and cultural services facilities will remain open with regular operating hours.
The program cancellations include all public programs, special events, workshops, presentations, activities and group visits taking place at all Lambton County Library locations (including the Sarnia Library Theatre), Lambton Heritage Museum, Oil Museum of Canada, Lambton County Archives, and Judith & Norman Alix Art Gallery. This includes all March Break programming.
No fines will accumulate for library materials that are currently on loan, and due dates have been automatically extended to April 6. Patrons may also renew materials online. Due dates for materials waiting on hold to be picked up by patrons have also been extended.
Patrons are encouraged to access the library's digital resources at www.lclibrary.ca. Digital resources include eBooks, eAudiobooks, eNewspapers, eMagazines, movies, music, online learning and more.
Mobile Library Service deliveries to Long-Term Care Homes are cancelled beginning Saturday, March 14 through Monday, April 6.
The County is closely monitoring the developing COVID-19 situation, seeking guidance from Lambton Public Health and making changes as appropriate. Decisions regarding future programming commitments beyond April 5 will be made as the situation unfolds.
