Wyoming, ON – The nine-week Rhythms of Lambton concert series organized by Lambton County Library completed its last performance last night with the Sarnia Legion Pipe Band.
The free series, which celebrated the rich music culture in Lambton County, featured nine different musical acts including Screeched Inn, Forest Excelsior Band, Larry Towell & Mike Stevens, Great Lakes Secondary School Concert, Choir and Jazz Bands, Bluewater Chordsmen, Relic, The Brothers Wilde, Lambton Concert Band and the Sarnia Legion Pipe Band.
“It’s evident that the community wants to support the local music culture,” says Vanitia Campbell, Public Services Coordinator, Lambton County Library. “Over 880 people supported this series over the past few months, so we are looking at more ways we can incorporate these kinds of events into future library programming.”
Concert goers were also encouraged to visit the History of Community Concert Bands in Lambton County exhibit located in the Sarnia Library Theatre lobby, an exhibit that features artifacts and photographs and explores the history of bands from early settlers to modern day concert bands in Lambton County. The exhibit was provided by Lambton County Archives in partnership with Lambton Concert Band, and will be on display until the Fall of 2022.
