Wyoming, ON - A special meeting of Lambton County Council will be held on Wednesday, January 20, 2021 at 10:00 a.m., between the scheduled Committee A.M. and Committee P.M. meetings.
In this meeting, Public Health staff will make a presentation to County Council providing details on Lambton Public Health's COVID-19 immunization roll-out plan for Lambton County. This meeting will be livestreamed for public viewing. The meeting agenda and livestream link can be found at lambtononline.ca/meetings.
Further to this meeting, staff are currently planning opportunities to provide the public with information on the vaccine roll-out plan and answer common questions that are arising in the community. This will include hosting a public Community Town Hall session to answer questions from residents about Lambton's immunization plan. This Town Hall session will take place during the week of January 25, 2021. Further details will be provided later this week.
To date, the province has not provided any COVID-19 vaccine supplies to Lambton County. We expect the vaccine to arrive the week of February 1, 2021.
Once vaccine allocations arrive, they will be made available to the most vulnerable groups, which include Long-Term Care and Retirement Home residents and staff. These decisions follow the province's criteria for eligible priority groups. Other priority groups will be targeted in the next phase of Lambton's immunization plan, and this information will be updated frequently once available.
It is important to note that vaccine distribution is still in its early stages across the province. Public immunizations will occur in later stages of the roll-out plan. To learn more about the vaccine and local plans for distribution, visit getthevaccine.ca.
