Wyoming, ON – The County of Lambton is continuing to monitor the ongoing closure of Highway 402 between Nauvoo Road and Oil Heritage Road, a result of an ongoing protest on the highway.
The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are leading the response to this incident.
The County is liaising with stakeholders to maintain situational awareness and provide resource support to the OPP.
“While the right to peaceful protest is a freedom that is valued by every Canadian, this protest, and the others taking place across the country, is having an incredibly negative effect on local residents and businesses,” said County of Lambton Warden Kevin Marriott. “The County is in continued contact with local OPP and remains committed to continue to work with the OPP, as needed, to reach our common interests in bringing this situation to a timely resolution.”
