Wyoming, ON – Lambton County Library is now offering Yoto Players to library cardholders, a new screen-free audio device that plays stories and music for kids.
A Yoto Player can be borrowed as part of a kit that includes the portable audio device, a charging cable, and a selection of plastic content cards that play stories and music when inserted into the Yoto Player.
Yoto Players are suitable for children aged three to 12 and are available in a variety of themes such as superheroes, dragons, fairy tales, friends, and classic tales.
"The themed kits ensure age-appropriate content for kids and give kids independence to choose stories that interest them and improve their reading motivation and comprehension,” said Kevin Coates, Public Services Coordinator, Collections. “This is a great tool for literacy development for early learners and children with print disabilities, including dyslexia.”
Yoto Player Kits can be borrowed for up to 21 days with a valid Lambton County Library card.
Library cards are free for anyone who lives, works, studies, or owns property in Lambton County, or is a resident of a First Nations community in Ontario. For more information on how to become a Lambton County Library cardholder visit http://www.lclibrary.ca/apply.
