The Sarnia-Lambton Anti-Racism, Diversity and Inclusion Committee (SLARDIC) was initially formed in 2018 as part of The Anti-Racism Arts Program (ARAP), which was funded by the Government of Ontario, through the Municipal Innovation Fund (MIF).
What is the Diversity and Inclusion Committee?
The Diversity and Inclusion Committee is made up of a group of local volunteers who share a passion for social justice and inclusion. The goal of the Diversity and Social inclusion Committee is to foster a spirit of acceptance and welcome in Lambton County. To date we have partnered with groups such as Women's March Canada, Sarnia Pride Alliance, Centre Communautaire Francophone de Sarnia and look forward to working with many more. We aim to promote diversity and inclusivity through arts based initiatives and diversity themed events throughout the community.
We believe Diversity and Inclusion are key factors in the maintenance of a healthy, growing, community. Working together with community groups across political, social, economic, racial and identity spectrums will allow for the sharing of ideas and perspectives which will aid in making Lambton County an even more welcoming place to live than it already is.
Current projects
The Sarnia-Lambton Local Immigration Partnership is collaborating with community partners to initiate and launch the #AllAreWelcomeHere #TousSontLesBienvenusIci Campaign to facilitate and strengthen the integration of immigrants into a community that is welcoming.
