Oliver Simmons
Warden, 1891.
Born in the State of Ohio, January 29th, 1834. Came to Petrolia in 1865. Was Mayor of Petrolia in 1892 and 1893. M.P for East Riding in 1900-1903. Fought for and succeeded in getting House of Refuge for County built. Chiefly responsible for the erection of the Petrolia Waterworks system by which the water was pumped from Lake Huron, eighteen miles away. Died November 11th, 1903, at Petrolia and was buried there.
Robert J. McCormick
Warden, 1892.
Born in Ireland, August 10th, 1848, of Scottish extraction. Came to Canada in 1863 and settled in Warwick Township. Farmer and Brickmaker. Thirteen years in County Council. Unsuccessfully contested East Lambton for Provincial Legislature in 1894, but successful in 1908 and held the seat until 1914. Died in Watford and buried there.
William Nisbet
Warden, 1895.
Born in Plympton Township, March 6th, 1855. Settled in Dawn in 1882, when all bush. Farmer and stock raiser. Deputy Reeve 1885, 86, 87, 1889. Reeve 1891, 94, 95, 1896. County Councillor in 1897-1906. Justice of the Peace since 1886. Indian Agent 1907-1910. Moved to the City of Sarnia and was Mayor for two years and lived retired until his death. His father was Warden in 1872.
Albert Duncan
Warden, 1897.
Born in Sarnia Township, July 24th, 1854. Came to Petrolia in 1893. Oil producer and Life Insurance Agent. Police Magistrate for the Town of Petrolia, from March 4th, 1904-1907. First Warden of the County under the County Council's Act 1896. Moved to Winnipeg in 1897 and was superintendent of the Live Stock Department, Grain Growers' Company, for several years and re-moved to Winnipeg in 1907 and there remained until his death.
Peter Grant
Warden, 1898.
Born in Scotland, July 12th, 1843. Farmer and School Teacher. Auditor for the Township of Sombra for many years and secretary of Sombra Agricultural Society for twenty-one years. Treasurer for fourteen years. Taught his first school in Middlesex County in 1867. Died March 22nd, 1915. Age 72 years. Buried in Black Creek Cemetery.
