Planning for Your Court Appearance or Visit
Visitors are welcome to attend Lambton's Provincial Offences Court, with the exception of pre-trial conferences/matters.
Please note the following courtroom etiquette when attending the Provincial Offences Court:
- Silence is mandatory; all cellphones and pagers must be turned off or put on silent mode.
- Use of cameras, recording devices or photo phones is strictly prohibited.
- No food, drink, gum or reading material (newspapers/magazines) is allowed in the courtroom.
- You must remove sunglasses and hats, with the exception of religious head coverings.
- Appropriate attire is required; dress neatly and refrain from shorts or clothing with inappropriate/questionable phrases or images.
- Stand when the Justice of the Peace enters and leaves the courtroom.
- When the Justice of the Peace is speaking, do not make noise or leave the courtroom.
- Inform the Prosecutor of your attendance upon arrival.
- Arrive on time. There are a number of cases to be heard each court day - be prepared to stay the entire day.
Parking and Accessibility
Parking is available at the Lambton Shared Services Centre parking lot off of George Street.
If you require an assistive device or a have request relating to accessibility, please contact the Municipal Courthouse Accessibility Coordinator (Cindy Vermeiren / 519-344-8880 ext. 2236 / Email Cindy Vermeiren) in advance of your appearance. You can also advise a Court Clerk upon your arrival. An elevator is available in the facility.
