The Municipal Prosecutor of the County of Lambton Legal Services/Clerk's Department is responsible for the prosecution for most Part I, II, and now Part III matters under the Provincial Offences Act, as of March 2023. See our Ticket Information and Resources page for more information about these types of matters. Brian Fortune remains prosecuting MTO matters regarding commercial motor vehicles.
Early Resolution Meetings
The Municipal Prosecutor provides Resolution Meetings for defendants who wish to resolve their Part I or II charge(s) instead of going to trial. For a Part I charge, Option 2 on the back of the ticket must be selected. The defendant will receive instructions in the mail regarding when to contact the Prosecutor. If a resolution has been made during the discussion, a defendant is still required to attend court to agree to the terms on record. If a resolution has not been reached, the defendant has the right to a trial and will be mailed a future court date. Please view the Options for Part I Tickets to see the options available and for detailed information on Early Resolution Meetings.
